Dumo Lulu-Briggs Youth Foundation (DYF 23), a non-partisan youth body, through the philanthropic gesture of its grand patron, Chief Dumo LuLu-Briggs, successfully distributed hundreds of free Jamb forms to students across the 23 Local Government Areas in Rivers State.
The exercise which took place at the foundation’s Secretariat in Port Harcourt, was carried out accurately and evenly across the 23 LGAs, ensuring that every beneficiary of the scheme successfully went through the due process, duly registered and sat for the exam accordingly. The gesture was made open to all, and gave opportunity to both indigenes and non-indigenes residing in Rivers State to benefit from the free scheme.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to us expressed their profound gratitude, foremost to Chief Dumo LuLu-Briggs (DLB) for such level of magnanimity and love to invest into the future of the younger generation praying that God reward him richly. Also Speaking on behalf of the non-indigenous beneficiaries, Miss Enobong Sunday appreciated the fact that this kind gesture was extended to the non- indigenes in the state, and prayed that God Almighty rewards Chief Dumo LuLu-Briggs.
In their advice the President of the Foundation, Obilor Obinna, and the PRO, Holgate Bokoko, urged the beneficiaries to utilize this gesture to the best of their abilities in order to better their lives and in return reach out to the society at large. The president also warns the beneficiaries against social vices, urging them to engage in useful ventures that will lead to the development of the society.
Givers don’t give because they have. What triggers giving is love for humanity, not just the abundance of wealth. Every rich man or woman has enough projects to carry out with his/her money, but it takes a heart of a humanitarian to make the need of others an utmost priority, especially in the present economic recession experience by almost every family in our society.
In his own words, “Every day, I pray to God to show me more ways to impact on my society; to do a better job of managing the resources and opportunities that I have to create opportunities for others thereby helping to make the world a better place. Each time I do such, it gives me an inner peace and joy knowing I am putting smiles on the faces of people and helping to give them hope for tomorrow.”
Sir, on behalf of the good people of Rivers State, residents both indigenes and non indigenes, and the over two hundred beneficiaries of the free Jamb Scheme, the Dumo LuLu-Briggs Youth Foundation (DYF 23) wish to use this medium to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU, our mentor and grand patron, for impacting positively the lives of these future leaders of our nation.
